Haiti – Day 2

Posted: March 23, 2010 by Michele in Engineering Ministries International, project trips

Another busy day for Kevin in Haiti . . . here’s the latest report:

We went to 3 sites today – an orphanage, primary school and a kindergarten. One was okay with no fixes, one needed replacement of walls, and one was okay but needed repairs.

If you’d like to see pictures of some of the sites, check out the Haiti Album:

(Believe it or not, there were no casualties in the kindergarten, above)

And on a lighter note, a few quotes that Kevin collected today:

“There’s 2 meals a day, one’s yellow, one’s green. Other than that I can’t tell the difference” – volunteer nurse in Haiti about the food she’s being served at a local hospital

“The one lesson I learned in Haiti is that you can wear the same clothes for 4 days in a row.” 16 year old girl volunteering with her school group in Haiti

Even in the midst of destruction, there’s always something to make you smile 🙂

So glad to read Kevin’s post and know who else I am praying for. My son Adam Hanks is on Kevin’s team.
