I finally got our July prayer letters in the mail (it’s still July – just barely . . . )! The email ones went out on the weekend, but the postal ones are usually a day behind, since I tend to finish projects like this late at night after the kids are in bed, and, well, the post offices aren’t open then. Besides, Talia and Kaisa like to help me lick envelopes and stick on stamps 🙂 . I love doing prayer letters, but they are a bit of work. And sometimes I wonder if people actually read them, especially the email version, or if they just end up in cyberspace somewhere 😉 . But without fail, a handful of people respond and let me know that they’re following our wanderings, that they’re praying for us . . . and the prayer letters end up being an encouragement to ME. They are a neat chance to reflect on where God has taken us this month. Sometimes – like when Kevin’s just back from a project trip – there’s no problem filling up a letter. Other times, when it’s just the day to day grind of logistics and report writing, it’s harder. But God needs us to be faithful in those parts too – otherwise the exciting parts – the project trips – couldn’t happen.
Anyway, after all that rambling, if you haven’t seen our latest Wiens Wanderings, you can find it here. And, if you’d like to be added to our mailing list, just provide us with your email address (or mailing address) here.
