The interns have been spending some time during the summer volunteering at the Mustard Seed, a soup kitchen here in Calgary. Today, a friend took my girls so that I could go along. Woo Jin (our homestay student) and Yuri – both friends from English Corner in Fort St. John – came to help too. So, we chopped sausages, made sandwiches, stripped turkeys, chopped red peppers, and finally served some delicious Jambalaya for lunch.
While we were busy at the Seed, Talia and Kaisa got to spend the day with Josie and Jarod. They hadn’t seen them since school was out, and they got to go to the park, eat lots of popsicles, and run through the sprinkler. Life is tough 🙂
