Busy, busy trip

I’m writing this post from Kaleden, and our time here is almost over. It’s been such a good – though busy – time. We were down here for two main reasons: to celebrate my parents’ 60th birthdays and to share about our journey to eMi with the church I grew up in.
There were actually two birthday parties for Oma + Opa … the adult one last night (while the kids joined some friends + Auntie Jenn for a slumber party) and one especially for the kids this afternoon. Both were filled with lots of fun, games, and prizes. The adult party pushed some people’s comfort zones, as people WEREN’T sitting by their spouses – but Kevin always seemed to be the centre of attention whenever I looked over to his table πŸ˜‰ . The kids party was so that Talia + Kaisa didn’t make the long drive for Oma + Opa’s party and then not be allowed to come! Oma invited a bunch of other kids and they all had the time of their lives!
This morning we were at Kaleden Church. This is the church I grew up in, taught Sunday School in, etc. Though I’ve been gone for 15 years, and lots has changed, it still feels like coming home (some of MY Sunday School teachers are still at this church!). Today, Kevin + I presented all about eMi, then I disappeared out with the Sunday School kids while Kevin gave the message. Afterwards we had most of our display booth set up again, and answered lots of questions about where we’re headed.
I’m being paged for dinner, so the rest of the update will have to wait ’til later. We have more visiting to get in before we leave back for home tomorrow πŸ™‚
