First Dance Recital

Well, Kevin survived his first dance recital — and he had to miss a nominations meeting to be there for his daughter. He definitely deserves some credit πŸ˜‰

Talia was sooo excited about dancing. Her job (and that of the rest of the girls in the "3&4 year old" class) was to go on stage and look cute πŸ™‚ That, she did very well. Here's a picture that Kaisa took of Talia in her costume in the dressing room before her performance:

The girls did a tap dance to "Rockin Robin," so they had feathers in their hair AND as a tail. Auntie Crystal did Talia's hair in the required curly ponytail (Thanks Crystal!). On stage, the teachers were in the wings dancing along so the girls could remember what to do next πŸ™‚

We did stay for the rest of the performance, and both Talia and Kaisa enjoyed watching all the different types of dances (including some "real" ballerinas, according to Talia). We thought Kaisa was going to fall asleep on our lap — she was fading even before the intermission. But she must have gotten her second wind. She suddenly was in the aisle, mimicking and dancing along with some of the intermediate and senior company dancers on stage! It was SOOOO cute. Thankfully, she wasn't blocking anyones line of sight, 'cause I didn't think I could stop her at that point without causing a disturbance. That said, I think some of the audience found her more entertaining than the "real" performance. Think I might have another one in dance next year?? πŸ™‚
